Day 1 Citron Coast, Fuscaldo ( 3 nights )
Arrive at Lamezia Terme Airport and transfer to hotel in Fuscaldo. ( D )
Day 2 Diamante, Scalea, Praia a Mare, Altomonte
Visit Diamante, one of the most pleasant resorts in Calabria. After a short stop we continue to the old town of Scalea, which clings to the hillside.
In the afternoon Praia a Mare, offering incomparable natural beauty, monuments, works of art and areas of archaeological interest and Isola Di Dino with its own Blue Grotto. We then continue to the medieval centre of Altomonte and a taste of the local produce.

Day 3 Paola, Fiumefreddo, Amantea
Paola where we visit the Sanctuary and the church of S. Francesco di Paola built between the 13th-14th centuries. Continue to Fiumefreddo, situated in a panoramic position. This medieval town is of interest for its still intact ancient urban layout with its surrounding defensive walls. Then it's on to Amantea and visit the ruins of the medieval castle and the historical city centre. ( B D )
Day 4 Camigliatello, S. Giovanni in Fiore, Crotone ( 2 nights )
Camigliatello, the most important town in the mountain range of the Sila Grande National Park. Free time for shopping and sightseeing. Continue to S. Giovanni in Fiore and visit the abbey of Gioacchino da Fiore founded in 1185. Depart for Crotone, founded around the 7th century BC by Greek colonists, where we visit the imposing Castle and the Archaeological Museum. Continue to hotel in Crotone. ( B D )
Day 5 Cirò, Rossano
Rossano, one of the most significant centres of Byzantine civilisation in Calabria with the 11th century church of S. Marco, the Diocesan Museum where the 6th century Codex Purpureus is kept. Continue to Cirò, known throughout the world for its renowned wine where we sample some of the local produce. ( B D )
Day 6 Capo Colonna, Le Castella, Roccelletta di Borgia, Jasmine Coast, Diderno ( 2 nights )
Capo Colonna where we visit the ancient Greek ruins and the Temple of Hera, then on to Le Castella with its 15th century Aragonese Castle. We continue to the Archaeological Park of Scolacium, where we see a mix of ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine remains. We visit the Museum of Roccelletta which houses some of the finest examples of Roman sculpture along with other artefacts. Then make our way to our hotel in Siderno. ( B D )
Day 7 Stilo, Bivongi, Serra S. Bruno
Stilo, the "Byzantine town" and a visit to the famous La Cattolica, a Byzantine church. Continue to Bivongi, a picturesque village with a maze of alleyways, staircases leading to houses perched one above the other.
In the afternoon we visit Serra S.Bruno and the Carthusian Monastery, S.Bruno lake and church of S. Maria del Bosco. We also visit a Bergamot plantation, a citrus fruit that grows only in Calabria. ( B D )
Day 8 Locri, Gerace, Pentidattilo, Bagnara
Excursion to ancient Greek “Locri Epizephyrii”, visit the archaeological excavations and the Museum. Continue to Gerace, the medieval town once called the “Florence of the South”. Visit the Cathedral, San Francesco Church and a textile craftsman’s studio. On to Pentidattilo, an ancient town built into a rocky mountain side that appears like five outstretched fingers. Continue to Bagnara, a fishing village renowned for its swordfish and check into hotel. ( B D )

Day at leisure to rest and regenerate. ( B D )
Day 10 Reggio Calabria, Scilla, Violet Coast
Excursion to the two seas with a visit to the world famous National Museum of Reggio Calabria where the Bronzi di Riace are kept. Walk along the Lungomare "the most beautiful kilometre in Italy" and gaze across the Straits of Messina towards Sicily. Then on to mythical Scilla, and the old fisherman's quarter "The Chianalea" a row of tiny, pastel coloured cottages built between the sea and mountains. ( B D )
Day 11 S. Elia, Gambarie
A day of relaxation and sightseeing with an excursion to Monte S.Elia, which offers some of the best views in Italy. Continue to Gambarie, a mountain resort surrounded by tall luxuriant beech and pine forests. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with typical home made produce and local wines. ( B L D )
Day 12 Palmi, Vibo Valentia ( 2 nights )
Travel up the Violet Coast to Palmi, one of the most important regional centres in Calabria and the seat of power during the period of French rule. We then move on to our hotel at Vibo Valentia, the ancient Greek city of Hipponion. Situated on a plateau 476 mtrs above sea level with views from Capo Palinuro, in the Campania region, to Sicily this was a strategic city which was later settled by the Romans and later by the Normans. Day 13 Tropea, Capo Vaticano, Pizzo Calabro
Excursion to Tropea "the Pearl of the Mediterranean" one of the most panoramic towns in Calabria. Visit the Cathedral, the historical centre and a stop at the "Affaccio" the most beautiful balcony on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Short stop at Capo Vaticano and then continue to Pizzo Calabro where we sit in the quaint piazza and eat the best Tartufo ice cream in Italy. Visit the Aragonese Castle and the charming Church of Piedigrotta carved out of the tufo rock.
